Transfast Express provides executive car services to corporate and private clients. The company recognises that the services we provide can have an impact on both the local and global environment.
We understand that our daily operations contribute towards the CO2 levels in the atmosphere, that’s why we are making a conscious effort to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible for the future of our environment.
We are aware that the future is electric and or Hydrogen to significantly reduce emissions into the atmosphere, there requires a switch to cleaner and greener driving behaviours. Although we are in favour of an electrified future, due to the lack of accessibility to charging infrastructure across the locations we operate in, as well as logistical challenges (particularly long journeys), our switch to electrified transport will be occurring in the next few years.
However, in order to reduce our company’s carbon footprint, we are ensuring that all journeys that take place are carried out as eco-friendly as possible, for example, AdBlue, or diesel exhaust fluid, is still unfamiliar to some motorists but owners of modern diesel cars with engines that are Euro 6 compliant will already know about it.
AdBlue is a liquid used to reduce the nitrous oxide emissions of diesel engines and is made up of a mixture of urea and deionized water that is sprayed into the exhaust system. Its widespread introduction coincided with the current Euro 6 emissions standards, which are part of ever more stringent emissions targets that car manufacturers are now required to meet. Without AdBlue, it would be much more difficult to lower the emissions of diesel cars and get them to comply with the latest standards.
We only drive when required to by our passengers therefore eliminating any dead mileage (where miles are travelled for no reason). We are always checking the shortest routes to our passengers’ desired destinations, this means that our drivers are not on the road for longer than they should be.
We aim to be as sustainable where possible throughout our day to day practices, for example we ensure our stationery is recyclable; we communicate digitally and when communicating via print, we ensure that the materials used are recyclable.
The coming years are set to be crucial for combating climate change as the UK steers towards a Net Zero future, we will be reviewing our environmental and sustainability policy to ensure that we are heading towards the right direction that aligns with the nation’s environmental plans.
We understand our responsibility to the community and aim to minimise the adverse effects our business has on the environment wherever possible.
